The Shasta Youth Symphony Orchestra Concert "A Cool Smorgasbord of Tastes" is dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Sue Dietz, late string educator, violin and cello teacher, former director of the Sequoia Strings, and for many years a long time member of the Shasta Symphony who also taught string classes at the College.  We invite anyone who knew this wonderful woman to come and hear what we have prepared in her honor.

This concert includes works by Carl Stamitz and Guiseppe Torelli for Strings, and Three Suzuki pieces for a Beginning Group of Strings, along with Four Full Orchestra Pieces, Serenade for Strings by Tschaikovsky, Variations on a Theme by Handel, Hopak, by Modest Mussorgsky, and the Bacchanale from Sampson and Delilah, by  Camille Saint-Saëns.

The Fall Concert will be held at 3:15 P.M. on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Shasta College Theatre.  Tickets are $3, available in advance at http://www.shastacollege.edu/youth_orchestra or at the Shasta College Box Office one hour before the performance.  For more information call the Division of Arts, Communications & Social Sciences at 242-7730.
