This film screening is something that you will not want to miss!

This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the 11th anniversary of National Campus Safety Awareness Month, a time for all of us to reflect on and celebrate our success in addressing challenges that affect the safety of our campus community.  The Shasta County District Attorney's Office brings The Hunting Ground to Shasta College. Together, we are taking a stand and asking the community to stand with us, against sexual assault and victim blaming. Join us in our fight to raise awareness of sex crimes on college campuses. Watch the trailer at http://www.thehuntinggroundfilm.com/#trailer.

Synopsis: From the team behind THE INVISIBLE WAR comes a startling exposé of rape crimes on U.S. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the brutal social toll on victims and their families. Weaving together verité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows survivors as they pursue their education while fighting for justice - despite harsh retaliation, harassment and pushback at every level.

After the showing we will have a panel of individuals from the Shasta County District Attorney's Office, Shasta College, One Safe Place, etc. to answer any questions or concerns, and offer support to our audience members.
