SALARY INFORMATION: $15.16 - $19.35 APPROXIMATE HOURLY

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Effective September 30, 2021, employees in this position at this worksite are required to be COVID-19 vaccinated in accordance with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Order issued on August 5, 2021, unless they have a qualifying medical or religious exemption, which will then require the employee to submit to COVID-19 testing on a weekly basis in lieu of vaccination.

Under supervision, to provide transportation and to perform other duties as assigned. May be used in a variety of departments, including the Health and Human Services Agency.

Extra help positions are hourly employees that may work up to 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Benefits are not included.

The ideal candidate for Extra Help Driver will be an individual who loves to drive, is flexible with their schedule, and is looking for periodic work. (This position does not guarantee a set number of work hours). The driver will be able to demonstrate compassion, understanding, and patience at all times. This individual should have experience working with people, especially those with mental health issues, physical issues, memory deficits and/or behavioral problems. At times, there is the possibility the driver would be gone two or three days at a time with very short notice.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license; at least three (3) years of licensed driving experience; and possession of and the ability to maintain a safe driving record.
