TEACHER’S AIDE

JOB DESCRIPTION

The person selected for this position will be responsible for assisting a classroom teacher in the general supervision and management of a class of infants between the ages of 8 weeks- 2 years or a classroom of children from 2 -5 years.

QUALIFICATIONS

The person selected for this position must be a t least 18 years old, in the process of becoming professionally prepared to be a teacher of young children, and meet the requirements of our licensing agency. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, enjoy being around children, maintain a positive attitude, create a positive atmosphere, be sensitive to the feelings of others, be able to relate to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Munchkin University’s educational philosophy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of a teacher.

2.Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.

3.Jointly supervise the classroom with a teacher.

4.Help with general housekeeping tasks.

5.Maintain a positive and professional attitude in the classroom and toward Munchkin University.

6.Treat all children with dignity and respect.

7.Attend staff meetings on the 3rd Thursday of every month with a learning tool you have made with our supplies that will become property of Munchkin University. Attend recommended training programs and conferences.

8.Participate in professional organizations that work for the improvement of early childhood education.

9.Any other assigned duties.

Requirements

Part time Teacher’s Aide

Candidates must be nice, positive, energetic, and be able to meet all licensing requirements.

The person chosen for this position will help plan, implement, and supervise original curriculum in accordance with the policies and philosophy of our school. All staff receive a pay increase after a 90 day probation and every September thereafter. We are a part of Quality Counts North State so you can get your education paid for if you work at Munchkin University.
