Job Description
McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park is hiring several Visitor Services Park Aides. These positions are seasonal with an approximate start date of May 1, 2022 and extending through late 2022. Park Aides work under the direction of the Supervising Ranger and are the primary point of contact for park visitors. Park Aides operate the entrance station at Burney Falls. Duties include: Collect park day use fees, register campers, complete end of day cash register accounting and associated collections paperwork, maintain cleanliness inside and outside of park entrance station, maintain entrance station landscaping. Park Aides provide park information, explain park rules, and give directions to park facilities, surrounding area features and establishments. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required. Reliable transportation is essential due to the remote work location. Prospective candidates must pass a DOJ live scan. This is a uniformed position and the successful candidate will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform. State housing may be available.
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).
Requirements
18 years of age. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Must pass a DOJ live scan.
