Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Maintenance Mechanic who will report to the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor to join the EO team. This position is responsible for setup, optimization, and preventative maintenance on all equipment utilized to fill the product with the goal to have >90% uptime. This position will change over the machines when needed. They will perform scheduled maintenance & troubleshooting issues with equipment to make needed repairs. They will also complete work orders for facility maintenance and repairs. The maintenance mechanic will operate, inspect, test & maintain industrial equipment such as boilers, compressors, chillers, steam kettles, mixers, pumps, forklifts, filling, capping & labeling equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

Equipment

Responsible for proper set up of bottle filling lines in accordance with the production plan.

Troubleshoot and fix equipment, to eliminate downtime and maintain safety

Inspecting the machines for unusual noises or movements.

Clean, inspect & lubricate machinery components.

Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.

Monitor inventory and report to supervisor new parts when necessary.

Take notes of daily activities & enter into a daily report at the end of each shift.

Maintain work logs, repair logs, maintenance records & DI/RO water/boiler water quality logs.

Help installing & configuring new equipment.

Training on new equipment for production supervisors and leads.

Ongoing training on equipment set up, safety and proper sanitation.

Order parts and coordinate repairs in a timely manner. Be able to communicate effectively with outside tech departments and parts suppliers.

Follow & ensure compliance on all safety procedures including chemical & material handling, Safety Data Sheet, Code of Safe Practices, LOTO and all safety programs

Ensure equipment is in safe and optimal working order.

Follow & ensure compliance with gowning requirements in production areas.

Schedule & ensure ongoing preventative maintenance programs, logs and inspections.

Help maintain parts inventory and an organized manuals database.

Help keep the maintenance department clean and organized.

Be conscious of and follow all quality control/quality assurance procedures. Work with lab and production personnel as required & necessary.

Safety and Security

Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when working with products, chemicals or any other related materials as mandated by the Material Safety Data Sheet

Understand basic OSHA rules around equipment and plant operations.

Must be familiar with the information given in the Safety Data Sheets.

Must use a back support belt when lifting or moving any boxed or drums >25 lbs. No lifting over 50 lbs. without assistance.

Must report to supervisor any unsafe or hazardous conditions.

What you’ll bring:

Technical experience

3-5 years machine maintenance experience

3-5 years Automated Machine operation in Production Line experience preferred

Proficient in Excel, Word & Record Keeping

Experience in computerized machinery is strongly preferred

Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred but not required

The ability to get along with others and consistently promote a positive team environment.

Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and multiplication, necessary for optimizing machine throughput and quality.

Ability to grasp, bend, walk, lift and move items up to 50 pounds.

Ability to safely operate Material Handling Equipment and understanding of material handling dynamics (center of gravity, load centers, lift heights, name plates, and factors that affect stability) preferred.

Prior forklift certification ideal.
