Shasta Youth Symphony Auditions

The first meeting of the 2014-15 season of the Shasta College Youth Symphony will be on Wed., Aug. 20, 2014, at 4:00 P.M. in Room 633, Shasta College. This first rehearsal is organizational in nature.  Players need only bring instruments if they need to audition between 4:30-5:30 P.M. on the 20th. Please call or e-mail Mrs. Heneveld, Youth Symphony President, at 472-3498 or email to lotsofarrows@yahoo.com before Aug. 20 to set up your audition time.   Scales of G-D-A major will be heard, along with a short solo, followed by a short piece to sight-read.  Percussion players need to show rudimental stick technique and the ability to read music on other non-pitched percussion, or piano and bells. About 4-5 percussion players are needed for this semester.  The last day of registration for all classes is Fri., Sept. 5, 2014.  The first full rehearsal for all returning students/registered players will be Wed., Aug. 27, 2014; 4-5:30 P.M., Room 633.  There will be a parent meeting on Wed., Sept. 10, 2014.
