REDDING, CA – Shasta College announces its 63rd Annual Commencement ceremony which will take place on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. in the Memorial Stadium (football field). To date, there are 756 applications for diplomas, 120 applications for certificates, and approximately 414 confirmed participants in the commencement ceremony.
Scott Lay, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community College League of California (CCLC), will be this year’s commencement speaker. The CCLC is the nonprofit association serving California’s 72 community college districts in education and leadership development, district services and governmental relations. Bethany Schaarschmidt, Shasta College’s Excellent Educator of the Year, will be the commencement standard bearer. Sally Boyer, Classified Employee of the Year, will carry the California flag.
