Measles Information

In response to the current measles outbreak, the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency has requested the following important information be provided:

• To avoid illness people need to be sure they have had 2 MMR vaccines in their lifetime. “The Disneyland outbreak is not just at Disneyland anymore.”
• Vaccine clinic information for Shasta County can be accessed through http://www.co.shasta.ca.us/index/hhsa_index/Health_and_Safety/shots.aspx
• Information  about measles illness can be found at http://www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/discond/Pages/Measles.aspx or http://www.cdc.gov/measles/ 

Updates regarding the recent outbreak is available at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website through the link provided above.  As a reminder, the Shasta College Health and Wellness Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
