We've already seen a number of students walking around campus, looking for their classrooms, and strategically planning out how to fit Starbucks into that 10 minute break going from Calculus to Bio1 (it can be done, read below). But, arguably just as important, today is National Winnie the Pooh Day! Good luck tomorrow Knight, and Welcome Back!

ENROLLMENT

Spring Semester- S.O.S.!!

We can't really help with fashion emergencies/choices on your first day, but if you're obsessing about how to add/drop classes, getting lost on your way to lab, or finding the right parking lot-- help is just one S.O.S. station away. Strategically placed at each of the major parking lots you'll find S.O.S. stations (Students Obtaining Success) where you will find college staff armed with maps, pencils, flyers and even some helpful (and calming) advice. Stop by, pick up a map, and get your morning started off in the right direction.

  • Stations will be open Wednesday and Thursday mornings, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION

Students Ride For Free

RABA for Students: There's our favorite word again...Free. As in, no dinero, no charge, zero clams. And when you start looking at the price of gas these days the Ride RABA For Free program for students looks better than that note from your instructor telling you they don't believe in pop-quizzes. Here's the scoop:

  • Students must show their current Shasta College Student ID card to the bus operator when boarding. The card must have a validation sticker for the current academic semester.
  • To purchase a student ID follow these steps for contactless services. Or, students can schedule an appointment to visit the Student Senate Office to take their photo, pay, and receive their ID. https://calendly.com/sc-studentlife/student-senate-id-card
  • The Burney Express service is not part of this agreement.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Light Out To Light Up

Smoking Policy: Let's clear the air on the tobacco and vaping policy on campus. All puffing, snorting, chewing, smoking, vaping, etc. of tobacco products is prohibited on all District property at all times. The lawyers will tell you we're a smoke, vape, and tobacco-free environment per AP 3570. This applies to students, faculty, staff, administrators, visitors, and general members of the public. So, if you want to use, you've got to move (off campus that is).
