February is definitely a month with a lot of celebrations. Kicking off the week is an inspiring quote in recognition of this being Black History Month.

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.

Yes, we're symphony groupies-and you will be too once you hear this performance. Join the Shasta Symphony Orchestra as they present their spring performance on Saturday, February 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shasta College Theatre. Give your ears a technicolor treat with pieces from Bizet Carmen Suites 1 & 2 Debussy Petite Suite, Saint-Saëns Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso, and Pergolesi “Stizzoso, mio stizzoso” from La Serva Padrona. Give yourself bonus points if you can pronounce each one of those pieces. Featuring James Johnston, violin, and Erin Woodward, soprano, winners of the Emerging Artist Solo & Aria Competition.
