Join the Shasta College Veterans Club and the FOCUS Film Festival at a film screening of HIGH GROUND. The showing will be held on Friday, November 8, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Room 802, Shasta College, Redding. FREE Admission!

HIGH GROUND is a documentary that follows a team of veterans returning from combat in Afghanistan and Iraq as they set out to climb a towering Himalayan peak to overcome challenges and heal the mental and emotional ravages of war. Representing nearly every branch of the military, the veterans, and the Gold Star Mom who joins their trek, bring humor and deep emotion to this hero’s journey all captured with breathtaking, vertigo-inducing cinematography.

FOCUS Film Festival explores documentary and feature films that celebrate diversity and inclusion. Our vision is of a community that embraces diversity, not as difference, but as a blend of varied and valuable contributions. FOCUS Film Festival is a project of Far Northern Regional Center, an agency that provides services to people with developmental disabilities.

Shasta College Veterans Club - The purpose of the Shasta College Veterans Club is to provide assistance and direction to veterans, active duty personnel, reservists and their families in obtaining all entitled benefits, and to provide a fun and supportive group with which all members can be involved. The organization instills pride in their membership through engagement in service to fellow members and the community, all the while fostering patriotism and respect for those who have served and continue to serve.
