​Fall 2013 Welcome Day / 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" Speech Celebration

The Fall 2013 Welcome Day event is a special one this year, as it marks the 50th anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. "I Have a Dream" speech.  There will be a march led by our Student Senate members, a rap about Martin Luther King, Jr. performed by Shasta College staff member Evan Peters, and excerpts cited from the speech itself. 

The purpose of this event is to provide new, returning and prospective students and community members with resources that are available to them both on and off the Shasta College campus.  There will be information on course offerings, financial assistance, health and wellness opportunities, important college and community dates, tips for having a successful college career, athletic opportunities, Student Senate involvement, student clubs and organizations, and much more!  This event promises to be a fun and informative experience for everyone who attends.

Shasta College community partners will be giving away door prizes and product samples, and there will be music, food and refreshments.  This event is open to the entire community, and we look forward to seeing you there!
