REDDING, CA – Shasta College announces its 64th Annual Commencement ceremony which will take place on Friday, May 23, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Memorial Stadium (football field). To date, there are 728 applications for diplomas, 161 applications for certificates, and approximately 467 confirmed participants in the commencement ceremony.
Dr. Richard Pimentel, a Senior Partner of Milt Write & Associates, Inc. and nationally renowned disability rights activist, will be this year’s keynote speaker. The 2007 drama film Music Within chronicles Dr. Pimentel’s Vietnam War experience which drove him to advocate for the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act and against discriminatory hiring practices for disabled individuals.
