Frederick Lippman
Mathematics Instructor
Part Time
I received my undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Computer and Information Sciences at UC Santa Cruz. I did the work for my Master’s degree in Mathematics at UC Santa Barbara. I have taught Mathematics for 20 years or so, mostly at the College level. Before that, however, I have done a great many different things. I owned a small bakery once, I lived and worked in a Buddhist retreat center for several years, I volunteered for Hospice for a time, and way back when, I repaired musical instruments for a living. I still like to tell the story of how I used trigonometry to help repair tenon joints on clarinets.
