The Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate of Achievement will give you the skills to improve the health of individuals and groups through interventions in behavior change, nutrition, and physical activity. You will gain an understanding of the science behind behavior change, nutrition, and physical activity, and be prepared to implement evidence-based strategies to improve long-term health. As a graduate, you will be able to facilitate healthy lifestyle change in multiple sectors of the allied health field including hospitals, clinics, worksites, non-profit organizations, and private businesses.
The Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate of Achievement is intended for those working or planning to work as health coaches, personal trainers, registered dietitians, registered nurses, physicians, physical therapists, medical assistants, physician assistants, physical therapy assistants, and others who work in the allied health field. As the health and wellness industry continues to expand, there is a need for individuals who understand the principles of behavioral modification to improve individual and population-level health. The Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate of Achievement positions students at the forefront of the expanding health and wellness industry.

First Semester, First Year
9 Units TotalIntegrative nutrition combines principles of medical nutrition therapy with integrative and functional lifestyle medicine to provide the science and application behind healthy lifestyle interventions for the prevention and treatment of chronic, lifestyle-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Lifestyle medicine connects the science of physical activity, nutrition, stress resiliency, sleep hygiene, and behavior change to the advancement of the total person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This course offers students the evidence-based knowledge and practical strategies to instill healthy lifestyle behaviors in clients and patients. This course is intended for students completing certification in the Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Program. This course may be offered in a distance education format.
Second Semester, First Year
8 Units TotalAlternative One Semester Option (Fall Only)
