This certificate will equip you with the skills and knowledge to promote lasting health improvements through behavior change, nutrition, and physical activity in various allied health settings.

The Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate is designed to help you build the skills to improve health and wellness for individuals and groups through behavior change, nutrition, and physical activity. You'll learn the science behind these areas and how to apply evidence-based strategies to promote long-term health. With this certificate, you'll be prepared to guide healthy lifestyle changes in hospitals, clinics, workplaces, non-profits, and private businesses.
This program is intended for students planning careers as health coaches, personal trainers, dietitians, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants, or other allied health professionals. It's also ideal if you already have an Associate of Arts or another degree and want to enhance your expertise and career in health and wellness coaching.

0 Units TotalIntegrative nutrition combines principles of medical nutrition therapy with integrative and functional lifestyle medicine to provide the science and application behind healthy lifestyle interventions for the prevention and treatment of chronic, lifestyle-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Lifestyle medicine connects the science of physical activity, nutrition, stress resiliency, sleep hygiene, and behavior change to the advancement of the total person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This course offers students the evidence-based knowledge and practical strategies to instill healthy lifestyle behaviors in clients and patients. This course is intended for students completing certification in the Health and Wellness Coaching Program. This course may be offered in a distance education format.
