Program Overview

Shasta College's Mission includes being responsive to the needs of our communities within a changing global society.  The Humanities courses examine diverse cultures, and provide for the study of human arts, culture, an values.  This knowledge contributes to and enhances the social and cultural development of our students as students develop appreciation both of common and diverse cultures and cultural heritages.

Mission Statement

The Humanities emphasis permits students to explore the arts, ideas, values, and cultural expressions of the world's peoples as a foundation for lifelong learning or as an introduction to fine arts, literature, music, theatre, communication, journalism, and world languages.
