Program Components
Students in the Ascent Program will work closely with their business cohort counselor to develop individualized education plans. As part of the program, they will take specific courses alongside their cohort, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. This structure helps students build a strong team of peers and create a shared educational experience throughout their first two years.
There is a mandatory Ascent orientation which will be held on April 5th, 2025, held at the Shasta College main campus.
The Ascent Orientation is designed to assist incoming students with their transition to Shasta College. The orientation consists of an overview of the Ascent program, structured time to engage with their peers, various workshops, and the chance for students to familiarize themselves with campus. Each new student will be assigned a Peer Leader that will assist with their transition throughout the year.
There will be campus tours, food, games, and swag!
