Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Enrollment Criteria
To be eligible to enroll in the Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide (NA/HHA) program courses, the student, at their own expense, must complete the program's Health and Safety Clinical Requirements, which include the following:
- TB Screening (2-Step Process)
- CPR Certification
- Annual Influenza Vaccine during the current flu season
- Technical Standards Disclosure
- Physical Examination
Upon completion of the Part 1 Pre-Enrollment Packet, students will be added to the class working list based on the date their complete packet was submitted to the Health Sciences office. Students on the list will be offered an invitation to enroll in the class on a first come, first served basis until all class spots have been filled.
Those who have received a class invitation will be contacted by the Health Sciences office via email with directions to complete their Part 2 Pre-Enrollment Packet. The Part 2 Pre-Enrollment Packet is time-sensitive and should not be completed until directed to do so by the Health Sciences office.
Students can be added to class working list at any time once they have turned in a complete Part 1 Pre-Enrollment Packet to the Health Sciences office.
Students should be aware that the following conditions are necessary to be certified as a CNA or Home Health Aide:
- Must be at least 16 years old, have completed 10th grade and have the ability to read and write in English
- Must be able to provide proof of social security number (required for fingerprinting, background check and application for certification)
