Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Instructions

The background check and drug screening services for the Health Sciences programs are provided by an online service provider. You will need to pay for this service online with a credit card. If for some reason you are not able to use a credit/debit card, please contact the Health Sciences Office for instructions. In accordance with CA SB909, further information regarding the online service utilized including their privacy practices can be found on their website.

The cost for the background check and drug screen is $108.90. You will pay this one time fee when you open your account.  

Your drug screening will be scheduled at the time that you open your account for the background clearance. You will be given an option to complete the drug screening at either Quest Diagnostics or Lab Corp near you. No other labs are permitted. This is a timed process so make sure when you initiate your criminal background check and schedule your drug screening online (with payment) that you will be able to actually get to the lab and complete the drug screening within 1 - 2 days. 

Your criminal background check and drug screening must be completed within 180 days (90 days for Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide) prior to enrollment in your program. You will need to time the scheduling so that your completed report arrives to the Health Sciences office by the established deadline for clinical requirement clearance.
