Dr. Trusas Legacy Fund

Dr. Maurice Trusas passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the end of December 2023. Please join us in honoring his life and legacy by donating to the Dr. Maurice Trusas Legacy Fund. This fund will be used to provide resources and support for students and programs that are training the next generation of Dental providers in our community.  Your support will not only pay tribute to Maurice’s legacy of providing caring and high-quality dental treatment, but also help create a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Born and raised as a third generation Redding resident Dr. Maurice Trusas could not imagine practicing and raising his family anywhere else.  After completing his education Maurice returned home to once again enjoy everything the north state has to offer.  As a husband and father of three, camping trips, visits to Turtle Bay, having date nights with his wife and making dinner on his Trager were some of his favorite activities. Connecting with nature through hunting and fishing was also a special passion of Maurice. He loved getting up before the sun rises and throwing his favorite lures on local lakes and local rivers in pursuit of that next big bite.

Maurice’s passion for dentistry started at an early age and was in full swing by high school as he attended Shasta High School. He would spend many afternoons shadowing and working at local dental offices.  His education included completing an A.A. at Shasta College, B.S. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Biological Sciences, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of the Pacific, San Francisco in 2006. 

Maurice operated Trusas Family Dentistry with his wife, Mandy, and caring staff members for over 17 years. He was dedicated to providing the best individualized care to his patients, and so dedicated that he always made himself available after-hours for emergencies. People were at the heart of Maurice’s practice and he made it clear that his approach to dentistry began with the comfort and care of his patients. Maurice leaves behind an unmatched legacy of patient-focused care and excellence in dentistry.
