Evaluation of Classified Program for CCTC
Award: $249,767
Shasta College has partnered with the Sinclair Research Group to complete a statewide evaluation of the Classified Program for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which recruits classified school employees into teaching careers and supports their undergraduate education, teacher preparation and certification as credentialed California teachers. Sinclair Research Group has over 25 years’ experience in the evaluation of teacher and administrator preparation programs in California. This partnership allowed Shasta College to forge new opportunities into statewide research and evaluation of public education. Umoja Program 2020
Award: $16,000
The Umoja program funds will allow Shasta College to continue to provide additional recruitment and support services to students participating in the Umoja program, including tutoring, mentoring, school supplies, and stoles for graduating students. Awareness and recognition events such as Black History Month and Umoja shirts will foster inclusion and aid in recruitment efforts. TRIO –Student Support Services (SSS) Grant
Award: $1,675,550
The TRIO –SSS grant supports low income, first generation, and students with disabilities who are on a degree pathway with academic counseling, tutoring, financial aid planning, and other services to support their completion and transfer to a four year university. IEPI Seed Grant
Award: $200,000
The IEPI Seed Grant funds will be used to assist efforts to increase automation of Human Resource and payroll functions; including position control, time and attendance, leave accounting, employee self-service, retirement system reporting and compliance, payroll actions and payroll related reporting. Either a new HRIS/HCM and payroll software application will be purchased or the expanded use of its current system through a consultant and an added document workflow management system for online and automated processing of forms and documents. CCC Health and Wellness Sponsorship
Award: $1,500
The California Community Colleges Health and Wellness program is offering sponsorships to colleges, college foundations, community-based organizations, campus clubs, student groups, resource centers, or other college centers that are affiliated with the California Community Colleges to plan and host events and outreach activities on our campus or in our community to share resources and decrease stigma surrounding mental health and wellness. CAL Fire Forest Health -Phase II Grant
Award: $1,820,000
Supports the full implementation of the original grant for (2018-19 $3,200,000) logging and forest workforce development projects by expanding operational training capacity and a reforestation sub-project. Implementing the second phase means increasing industry-sought training and an expansion of student recruitment efforts.
